Why Saxophone Lessons?

Are you big, small, tall, short?  As long as you don't still have your baby teeth, no matter what your size or shape, saxophone is a great low-resistance wind instrument to learn!  Whether you have learnt before or are a beginner, Vivace teachers will share with you everything to need to know, from learning where your fingers need to go on a saxophone and how to blow using correct technique, to reading music and learning note values and musical terms.  Through our structured, well planned lessons your musical experience will be tailored to your individual needs.  As a bonus, learning the saxophone improves cognitive ability!  It stretches your mind, improves your memory and co-ordination.  What a great way to exercise your mind! 

What Music Will I Learn to Play?

Everybody wants to play music they enjoy! If you're a beginner, it may take some time to develop the skills you need to be able to play your favourite songs, however with help from our specially trained teachers (and a little practise at home!),  you will be playing songs you have heard before in no time!  Imagine being able to play Jingle Bells or Merrily We Roll Along after only a few lessons!

And the good news is ... the more you practise at home, the quicker you will progress.  In time you will be playing all of your favourites, whether that be the latest rock or pop song or a little jazz or classical music.  Whatever your goal ... it is our job to provide you with the stepping stones you need to reach your full potential! 

Do I need to buy a Saxophone?

Yes!  You will need to bring along your own instrument to lessons, and of course will need one to practise on at home.  If you are a beginner but don't have an instrument at home just yet, our friends at Ellaways Music Kedron are extremely helpful, and able to help you with the perfect instrument.  There are many options available, in varying price brackets.  The Australian Music Examinations Board exams are our specialty!  AMEB have a wide range of examination options available, and can cater for students of all ages and musical styles.  Ask us how, and we will tailor your lessons to your individual requirements.
